カーネーションのピンクと淡い黄色は、夏にぴったりの花で、長持ちします 。

Pink carnations and pale yellow flowers are perfect for summer and they can keep fresh for a long time.

黄色の透かしユリ、クジャクソウ、アスター、葉ものを合わせてみました。
まだまだ暑さ続きます。
長持ちしますように‥‥と願います。

I’ve arranged yellow spider lilies, peacock flowers, asters, and leafy greens.
The heat still lingers…
I hope they stay fresh for a long time.

暑さでお花が持たないので、今回は観葉をメインにしてみました。ハラン、ナルコラン、モンステラは自宅で育ってるものを利用。花は比較的持ちの良い小ぶりのトルコキキョウと、大ぶりの菊を葉を取って洋花風に使いました。

Since the flowers don’t last long in the heat, I focused mainly on foliage this time. I used aspidistra, lilyturf, and monstera grown at home. For flowers, I chose small lisianthus, which tend to hold up well, and large chrysanthemums with the leaves removed to give them a more Western-style look.

暑い夏、少しでも長持ちしてくれるようなお花を選びました。

For the hot summer, I chose flowers that would last as long as possible.

今日は白とグリーンを基調に8月31日のミサで朗読されたシラ書から「主はへりくだる人によってあがめられる」の思いを込めて活けました。

Today’s arrangement, in white and green tones, was inspired by the reading from Sirach at the August 31 Mass: ‘The Lord is glorified through those who humble themselves.’
