Today, the MICHIKOTO United celebrated their 12th year FILCOM Day.🇵🇷

The weather was a bit cloudy and hot. However, parishioners from Matsudo, Ichikawa, Koiwa and Toyoshiki couldn’t stop from coming to Matsudo Church.

We could hear the choir singing as they practiced from around 1 pm. Then, picture taking by community with their founder, Fr. Philip Ilio Bonifacio, SSC took place starting with Matsudo Community, followed by Ichikawa, Koiwa  and Toyoshiki . The Holy mass begun at 2 pm. Most of the people came wearing their beautiful traditional Filipiniana attire.

We had so much joy and fun watching the different groups performing their folk dances- the theme of the year.

The first group to perform was Ichikawa community dancing a combination of “ Aray ” and ” Polkabal “.

Followed by the Toyoshiki community who danced the ” Maglalatik“, a dance using coconut shells to make sounds.

Koiwa community followed dancing the “Pagapir“- a muslim fan dance.

The last to perform was the Matsudo group – the who performed the dance of balance or the ” Banga” dance which is a cordillera dance.

The audience was stunned how creative the banga dance was performed.

The Matsudo community won the liturgical dance contest during the Filcom Day last year and now, Matsudo community brought home the bacon again. 😀 👑 😀

After the dance contest, we had the blessing of the food and enjoyed savoring the Filipino food. There were about 250 people who came and witnessed the event.
